Tuscaloosa, Ala. -- August 22, 2018 – The Tuscaloosa Museum of Art, housed at The Westervelt Company headquarters building in Tuscaloosa, will close effective Friday, August 31. While core pieces will remain in the Westervelt Collection, most notably early American themed work and the Wild Birds of America series by Basil Ede, the remainder of the collection will be prepared for shipment. The remaining core pieces will not be on public display.
Based in Tuscaloosa, Ala., the Company’s business include lumber and wood pellet manufacturing mills, timberland management, forest recreation and environmental mitigation services. Created in 1884, The Westervelt Company was founded based on environmental commitment and sustainability of natural resources.
